1992-1994 Former Veterinary Technician with training also in the medical field. Basic First Aid Certification;CPR Card Holder.

1992-1996 Former member of Lee County Sheriff's Auxiliary Mounted Patrol Completed 40 hour riding-intensive training course.

1990-1994- Former member, and president, Dixieland Express Mounted Drill Team, Florida State Champions. Competed in Gymkhana competitions. Runner-up LCSP Rodeo Queen.

1987-1989 Trained BLM wild mustang range horses using horse's own natural behavioral herd instincts as opposed to brute force and much, much more...

About Riding Instructor Certification...

Horseback riding is inherently a dangerous activity, yet while most states require certification or licensing of realtors, beauticians, plumbers and aerobic instructors, an uncertified riding instructor is permitted to put a 5 year old child on the back of a 2,000 pound horse and try to teach him/her the fundamentals of riding. Unfortunately, there are instructors who are not competent to do this and the results can be disastrous. In other cases the instructor may be highly proficient yet not know how to conduct his/her lesson business in a professional and businesslike manner, which results in financial pressures forcing the instructor to leave the business. The ARICP (American Rding Instructor Certification Program) was established in 1984 with the objective of helping to solve these problems by identifying instructors who teach knowledgeably, safely and with integrity. Instructors who meet ARICP standards earn certification and their names are published in the Directory of ARICP Certified Riding Instructors.-(credit ARIA webpage riding-instructor.com)

Gemini Brittany Pledger, and her husband Jim, own and operate Hunter's Sound Stable, est. 1998. Jim is a Licensed Coast Guard Captain/passenger boat owner-operator and businessman whose family has been in the maritime profession for more than 175 years. In addition to Hunter's Sound Stable,the Pledger's own and operate several other businesses, including Captain J.P. Cruise Line, Inc., in upstate, New York. Jim and Brittany have three sons: All three children ride and compete on their ponies/horses. The family has established a breeding program, "Ever After" Welsh Ponies, for Welsh Mountain Ponies / Welsh Pony Crosses and stallion services with concentration on Section "A", Section "B", and 1/2 Welsh Grand Champion and Champion pedigreed animals. These ponies offer superior dispositions and phenomenal hunter-type pony movement. Brittany's young sons are all talented equestrians and, assist with the care, training, riding, and showing of these ponies.

Brittany is a current student of Robert C. Braren, and attends clinics with well-known instructors to sharpen her riding/teaching skills. She is in rigid training regimen for competition, 2006-2007 show season. She trained for three years ( 2001, 2002, 2003) with Grand Prix Legend Alain Vaillancourt and currently has memberships in USEF (formerly AHSA), USDF, USPC, WPCSA, WPCSC, SWA, and PgHA. Brittany was LCHA board member 2002-2005, and is currently Joint D.C. and Founder of Buckingham Pony Club. She has over 20 years experience, and teaches over 75 students and coaches a very successful adult/youth show team. She has current ongoing show exposure to most up-to-date trends.
